A photographic account of heavy music in Portland, Maine

PHOTOS: DirigimusFest 3 raises hell, $1,300 for charity

At this point, you might accuse us of being cheerleaders for Sylvia and Eastern Spell.

If so, gimme an F.

Those bands are fucking terrific and we’re unapologetic. (Too bad their sets were so very, very short.)Letter from Preble Street Resource Center

We didn’t catch as much of DF3 as we would have liked, but it was good stuff. The event raised $1,312 for the Preble Street Resource Center, according to coordinator Nick Marquis, which means about 220 people came out to support our neighbors and musicians.

Along those lines, the Noshbow block party gets underway today at 11 a.m. and runs ’til 6. There are some notable acts up in here: Stone Tools, Eldemur Krimm and Covered in Bees, to name a few.

Oak Street. 11-6.

Full-resolution photos are here. If you borrow these images for Facebook or whatnot, please credit us. (Watermarking sucks and we don’t wanna do it.) Also, don’t crop or alter.

Despite all this, we’re not monsters.
