A photographic account of heavy music in Portland, Maine

PHOTOS: SPACE Halloween Party

SPACE Halloween Party

The SPACE Halloween Party was like a four-hour acid flashback.

And that’s a good thing.

Last night’s ’60s-themed party featured performances by Jeff Beam and Friends, The Blood Capsules and Lovers of Fiction playing as Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, Roky Erickson, and The Kinks, respectively.

The main attraction, however, was the audience. Portland, you know how to do Halloween.

There were far too many spectacular costumes for us to document below, but keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming dispatch from Samuel Cousins, who served as resident photographer for SPACE’s event. (We’re big fans of his work.)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Tonight, Geno’s is throwing a massive, unmissable show. For a measly 7 bucks, you can see Wolvhammer and Mortals during the latest stop of their national tour. Ramlord opens.

Mortals is a true rarity: an all-female black metal band. If you’ve ever thought metal would benefit from more female performers, then get out there tonight and support this amazing band. If you have lingering doubts, please sit down, put in your earbuds, and watch this shit.

If you like this shit, then Like this shit. Better yet, follow us on your Twitters.

Full-resolution photos are here. If you borrow these images for Facebook or whatnot, please credit us. (Watermarking sucks and we don’t wanna do it.) Also, don’t crop or alter.

Yes, we’re monsters.
