A photographic account of heavy music in Portland, Maine
Prepare to fire stage 2 rockets.
Our weeklong ascent into madness accelerates tonight when two competing events erupt within the same city block.
At Geno’s, Pigboat kicks off a four-band show with headliners Karma to Burn. Meanwhile, at the State Theatre, Ozzy axeman and sentient video game boss Zakk Wylde cranks up Black Label Society (with openers Hatebreed and Butcher Babies).
“Karma to Burn is OG stoner rock from the ’90s,” said show promoter Angus McFarland, kingpin of Septic Lizard Presents. “K2B has a killer live show.”
625 Congress Street. 8 bucks. 9 p.m.
