A photographic account of heavy music in Portland, Maine
The dream of the ’90s was alive last night in Portland.
And that’s a good thing.
(A paying assignment kept us from seeing Kind and Portland’s ever-awesome Pigboat, but) we were fortunate enough to catch Sierra and Karma to Burn, two acts that are carrying the stoner metal torch to 34 cities during their coast-to-coast tour. Our postmortem is below.
Tonight marks yet another big event at Geno’s with Pharmakon, Standing Stones, Mugwort, Sadist, and Scrotal Tear. At this point, we’d like to hand the mic to DigPortland’s Nick Schroeder, whose preview on tonight’s show is informative, entertaining, and a damn sight better than we could manage.
Have a look here. 8 p.m. 7 bucks.
If you borrow these images for Facebook or whatnot, please credit us. (Watermarking sucks and we don’t wanna do it.) Also, don’t crop or alter.
Yes, we’re monsters.
